Our team around founder Bernard Lay has grown quickly. No wonder: we are passionate about events, shuttle tetris in Excel, long team days and lots of dynamism on site. That's exactly what we love about this job - and our customers say we're pretty good at it.

How Relay 2019 was created

We were not born out of a business plan, but because our service did not yet exist on the market: Holistic Mobility solutions especially for events, from event organisers.

At that time, founder Bernard Lay had already been working in the event and mobility industry for many years and knew the processes, interfaces and typical problems from practical experience.

Of course you could book buses for events in 2019. Vans. Driving personnel. What was missing was a Coordinated overall responsibility from a single source - planned, managed and realised by real event industry professionals.

This is exactly where RELAY comes in - as an answer to a simple question:
What if event mobility was finally organised as professionally as the rest of the event?

The first projects have shown what is possible when mobility is not a sideline but a professional endeavour. That is why we are growing. Not because we do a lot of advertising, but because we consistently deliver quality and we are recommended by our partners and customers.

What really defines us: Not the vehicles, but the people.

RELAY is a team of project managers, coordinators, drivers and partners who love events - and take their responsibility seriously.

Our coordinators are not anonymous staff. They are part of RELAY. They know processes, think ahead and stay calm when things get hectic.

Of course, we can't be everywhere at the same time. That's why we work regionally with people who have been with us for many years and know us very well. Trust and reliability cannot be booked at short notice.

Our network of selected partners throughout Germany and Europe is reliable, experienced and always fully committed to us. Because working together as equals is not an exception for us, but the standard.

We believe:

Responsibility does not end at the event site

RELAY takes responsibility - not only in the project, but also beyond.
For the industry. For young talent. For social commitment.

One example of this is Zukunftsmusik e. V.
The organisation was founded by Bernard Lay and is committed to the musical education of socially disadvantaged children. Started as a small deposit collection campaign at a festival, Zukunftsmusik has now become a well-known player in the promotion of music in the Rhineland.

Over 400 socially disadvantaged children now have access to music every week.

What began as an idea is now a measurable impact:

Through the collection of approx. 2 Millions of deposit cans were realised in just a few years 600,000 euros donations generated. These funds are invested in 38 Music projects for children who would otherwise not have access to it.

A commitment that shows how we also understand responsibility outside of projects.

Second men's team, our first choice - why we support handball

Because RELAY isn't in the limelight - it's backstage making sure events run smoothly. The 2nd men's team of 1. FC Köln Handball? Exactly: not in the spotlight, but indispensable for the club.

Team spirit, reliability, responsibility - on the pitch and at events.

As a Cologne-based company, we have been supporting 1. FC Köln Handball since 2024. Because it simply fits.
